New year and 365 ways to be a happier and better you!

Along with my New Year resolution to start working out again, which I've been slacking on, I'm also looking to be a better version of myself.
For the holidays I received a little book with the title "Everyday Happy 365 Ways to a better you".
The back reads:
"If life is getting you down, try a daily dose of happiness! This pocketbook personal trainer is packed with healthy snacks and herbal remedies to get you feeling great, energy-boosting exercises you can do at your desk, and motivational meditations for a more positive outlook.
With 365 little changes that will make a big difference to your life, a happier, more successful you is just around the corner!"

by Jenny Hare

The purpose is to read one page everyday for the whole entire year, 365 days.
At the end of each month there is a page for assessing how you've been getting on and to write down your thoughts.
You do not need to start this on New Years though, you can start it anytime you wish.

Since I am sharing it with you on day 6, I'll share with you the previous days as well!

Day 1: Do something really active
"Feeling a bit down? Try doing something really active and proactive... Even just making a decision to do something specific will help you to feel happier... Not only do you feel good when you are being active, but afterwards you'll bask in the satisfaction of having been active."

  Day 2: Count small luxuries
"How many small physical luxuries have you experienced today? Count them up...
Instead of taking these small things for granted, take a moment to appreciate each one to the full. Noticing how fortunate you are in so many diverse ways creates a sense of richness and well-being in your life... Noticed and appreciated, small pleasures contribute hugely to your everyday happiness."

Day 3: Assess your energy dips
"Do you ever get that sluggish feeling? ... When you get these spells, it's worth assessing what the best plan of action is. Decide whether to push yourself or take a break when you flag. Practicing listening to your gut feelings in this way pays dividends as you'll feel happily in tune with your body and mind."

Day 4: Go for a mini-break
"Take a mini-break; it's enjoyable, relaxing and reviving and almost as much of a tonic as a proper holiday.
The process of preparing and packing, even for a day-trip or a night away, gives you almost the same amounts of enjoyable anticipation as a longer break... And it's great to get home too... It's all-round holiday happiness."

Day 5: Make that call
"Phone someone today who might love to hear from you. Don't wait for a reason to do it, just call them and say you were thinking of them, or that you wanted to hear their voice and catch up... Do it primarily because it feels so good both to make contact and to give the other person pleasure. Create double happiness: call a friend, make yourself happy and make her happy, too."

Day 6: Forgive Someone
"Forgive someone for something today. Bitterness and resentment, however mild, can sabotage your personal happiness. Letting go of such feelings frees you up to be light-hearted and happy. Imagine yourself shaking the negativity off you and seeing it fall away. Forgiving someone doesn't mean that you condone what they did; it simply means you're no longer going to judge and let anger eat you up."

So far, I really enjoy this book. It is great to carry in your purse in case you need a little "how-to happiness" reminder
There are three others like it, including Everyday Confident, Everyday Calm, and Everyday Wisdom.
I'm tempted to buy the other three, and I think I might!

There is always room for improvement, I believe.
