Ipsy Glam Bag - February! Products & First Impressions

Another month, another Glam Bag!

February Products
Pixi Flawless & Poreless Face Primer
Coastal Scents Glitz & Glamour Eye Shadow
Mica Beauty Cosmetics Gel Eyeliner
Pop Beauty Smoky Lash Kapow!!! Mascara
Lash Card

Pixi primer
"Pore minimizing face primer. Oil free. Hydrating. Hypoallergenic. For all skin types."
First things first, I love the packaging. The pastel / pistachio green color makes me want to use it more, just because it's so cute!
It is a scentless, smooth, but not slick, primer with a slight nude tint to it.
It adds a little more ease when applying foundation, like a primer should.
However, I didn't notice my foundation staying on any longer with the primer than without, and I got a little shiny throughout the day, so it didn't prevent that.
I didn't see any difference with the visibility of my pores either.
I do think it hydrates a little, but that could be because water is the first ingredient.

Costal Scents Eye Shadow

This is probably my favorite part of the bag this month.
These eye shadows have great pigment and a good texture as well.
There is definitely fall out with these, especially Gunmetal.
They apply smoothly, a little powdery, but blend easily.
They did not crease on me at all, which is rare.
On my lid these did not smudge, but on my lower lash line it did.
Maybe it was just that color, Gunmetal, but I had raccoon eyes.
(Ashen, Incognito, Gunmetal, Candlelight)

Mica Gel Eyeliner

I've only ever owned black liquid liner, and I own one charcoal gel liner.
I was pleasantly surprised with this gel liner.
It goes on with ease, with a great smooth texture, and great pigment.
It dries quickly and does not smudge, which is a big plus.
It also stays on for a long time without flaking off.

Pop Beauty Mascara
I am a mascara lover. I feel I'll forever be on the search for a holy grail worthy mascara.
So getting a mascara was exciting, but this was a bust.
The applicator does not grab my lashes at all, just skims them.
I would love this for my bottom lashes, since it makes them darker but not clumpy, except that it smudges.
More raccoon eyes.
Boo-hoo.

Lash Card
I don't know what to say about these..
It is a smart idea, but they are so easy to recreate at home for little to no cost.
I would have preferred something else that I can't make myself with just an index card and scissors.
Also, the printing is backwards on the cards, but that at least made me laugh.

I wasn't blown away with this month's bag, but I wasn't completely disappointed either.
I just hope the next bag impresses me a little more.
xoxo
